(allure) Julia Roberts has been strutting down red carpets since red carpet culture became a thing, and she still manages to keep things interesting. At the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday night, Roberts mixed high and low with an ethereal, blousy Stella McCartney half-skirt styled over sharp black tuxedo pants. The jumpsuit makes me want to call Rent the Runway and head over to the nearest red carpet immediately. But the best part? Her toes, of course.
As Vogue points out, Roberts’ pedicure was the most subtle twist of her look. She wore gold nail shade on both her fingers and toes, then threw it back with stacks of gold toe rings. One might even say that her tailored pants and open-toed shoes were chosen to draw the eye straight down to her toes. Nail artist Mazz Hanna described the look to Vogue as “minimal, but still eye-catching.”
We’ll be seeing plenty more of Roberts, who was nominated last night for best actress in a television series drama for Amazon’s Homecoming, this awards season. Next time, we can only hope she’ll continue the throwback theme with a slap bracelet.
